WOODZ (Korean: 우즈) is a South Korean solo artist, singer-songwriter, and producer under EDAM Entertainment. Born Cho Seungyoun, he originally debuted as a member of the boy group UNIQ in 2014 and later gained recognition as a finalist on Produce X 101, re-debuting with X1 in 2019. Following X1’s disbandment, he rebranded fully as WOODZ and began his solo career with the EP EQUAL in 2020.

Known for his genre-fluid style, WOODZ blends R&B, alt-rock, pop, and hip-hop to create a distinct, introspective sound. As both a vocalist and songwriter, he’s praised for his emotional storytelling, self-produced tracks, and artistic versatility. His stage name reflects duality: “WOODZ” symbolizes a mature, creative identity separate from his idol past, with a focus on growth and personal expression.
